661X -- 3M Diamond Polishing Film 3M diamond film is a standard, one-micron particle abrasive, bonded to a 3 mil sheet, designed for use on multimode connectors. Diamond films are capable of cutting ceramic and zirconia ferrules as well as the fiber itself, allowing you to repair small imperfections in your polished glass surface. This inexpensive process can save hundreds of connectors and each sheet is capable of touching-up up to a hundred connectors. Not recommended in networks that are back-reflection sensitive such as SONET or other DFB laser based DWDM systems. |
